Off Spec Oil Recovery

WSG Emulsion Buster™ is an industry-leading, on-site emulsion breaking equipment package that reclaims valuable hydrocarbons from these waste streams. It also reclaims water for local disposal and should this stream contain and further harmful contaminants they can be treated using the WSG Advanced Filtration media.

WSG Emulsion Buster™ significantly reduces off site waste disposal volumes, costs and carbon impact by treating hydrocarbon sludge / emulsions by turning it back into its component parts of oil/condensate, water and solids.

The Emulsion Buster™ mechanically breaks the emulsions by exerting an equivalent force of 6,000G without the requirement of heat or chemicals. The equipment package has a small onsite footprint, is modular, scalable and suitable for high flow rates up to 150m3/hour with a single unit.

WSG Advanced Filtration Media (AFM) is a uniquely engineered solution providing unmatched filtration of ‘difficult to treat’ contaminants, achieving very low discharge levels at high flow rates providing our clients the opportunity to reduce its waste volumes, costs and carbon impact.

The WSG AFM system is tailored to the waste contaminants being treated but is typically a combination of ‘selective’ filtration media and activation catalyst. It significantly outperforms other common filtration by a 20: 1 ratio in terms of contact times to achieve the contaminant removal allowing significantly faster processing times than other technologies.

AFM achieves unmatched contaminant removal levels by eliminating highly toxic and poisonous chemicals such as heavy metals, hydrocarbons, BTEX. PFAS, glycols and other hazardous compounds that others cannot effectively treat on-site.

Both packages have a small onsite footprint, modular, scalable and suitable for high flow rates up to 150m3/hour with a single package.

The WSG Off spec oil recovery offers our clients the following benefits: –

• Effective phase separation of emulsified fluids into recovered oil, recovered water and solids at high flow rates.
• Single pass processing rates of returned/reused oil and water (< 6% BS&W for recovered oil and < 1% oil in water. Discharge limits can be improved where required)
• Further effective treatment of contaminated wastewater if required. Treatment options include heavy metals, hydrocarbons, cyanide/arsenic, BTEX, PFAS, PAH, PCB, glycol and Norm
• Typical hazardous waste disposal reduction of 75% to over 95%
• Solids will require an offsite disposal route but is typically less than 5% of the total waste.
