Storage Tank Inspections

WSG Integrity Specialists offer a range of storage tank and vessel inspections, including EEMUA inspections, and using a range of technologies can also tailor inspections to allow for a more detailed assessment during in-service or out of service inspection.

Using the latest FMX floor scanner we can provide defect sizing views for both top and bottom side defects on a C-Scan view which can be filtered with a threshold adjustment. Defects are displayed with various colours representing different severities of corrosion. These views can be displayed as top only, bottom only or both sides on same C-Scan.

STARS is a separate C-Scan view used to view the top surface, including through coatings, which can help determine whether there is loss of material (top surface pitting) or additional material (weld spatter).

Along with conventional inspection methods, WSG also carry out highly sensitive corrosion mapping on floor, shell or roof plates, with the addition of PAUT or TOFD on associated welds to provide highly detailed integrity examinations.

To assist with difficult to access area for UT thickness measurements, WSG have the use of traditional UT crawlers and a UT Thickness Testing Drone. We can assist with confined space entry close visual inspections of internal shell plates at height, including the vapour zone, by utilising our specialist drone capability.
