Workshop Technician

This position is primarily an internal facing role that supports the Equipment and Facilities Manager through safe and timely execution of site activities, in accordance with company’s and client’s processes procedures. The Workshop Technician will participate in preventative maintenance, setup, function test and operation of company’s equipment .You need to be a pro-active self- starter, able to forgo strong working relationships and be capable of managing your own time effectively. You must have excellent organisational and prioritised as well administrative skills required to maintain operational logs and test records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update equipment and spares inventory

•Perform daily equipment maintenance tasks in accordance with preventative maintenance procedures and checklists

•Function test equipment prior to mobilisation

•Report any equipment faults or non-conformances to the Equipment and Facilities Manager

•Assist with maintaining sufficient spares inventory and request additional equipment as needed to complete function testing operations

•Assist in Maintaining records for all lifting and pressure equipment, including design approval, lifting and test certification, Worksafe registration, pressure test certificates

Maintain inventory of all test and measurement equipment, including calibration and FAT records

•Complete equipment set up (including offloading, rig-up, rig-down and back loading) as directed by the Supervisor and set out within the operational procedures, in full compliance with applicable Project QA and HSE requirements

•Confirm equipment calibration is valid prior to operation

•Operate plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines, operating procedures and standard practices

•Ensure all near misses, incidents and/or accidents are promptly reported to the Project Engineer and/or Supervisor

•Assist with the preparation of daily operational logs, and testing data

•Adhere and comply with all site safety and quality control systems

•Support the ‘Stop Work Policy6.EXPERIENCE

Requirements and skills

  • Relevant onshore & offshore site experience
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship or Trade Certificate Understanding of processes & procedures
  • Experience working in offshore and LNG sites
  • Completed HSE essentials training
  • Completed mandatory internal training courses
  • Successful competency assessment
